SWISS International Airlines, which will operate to 48 points in Europe and 25 intercontinental destinations in its summer schedule, is launching a new long-haul service from Zurich to San Francisco from June 2, with connections from UK airports including Heathrow, London City, Manchester and Birmingham.

Other recent developments announced by the airline include a new six times daily Heathrow-Geneva service; 16% more capacity from Manchester to Zurich; the upgrading of current aircraft from a A319 to an Airbus A320; and a new codeshare partnership with bmi on all UK to Switzerland routes.
The current replacement of the carrier?s Airbus A330-200s fleet will be completed by the end of the year.
SWISS will operate a total of 862 flights a week in its new summer timetable.
