The company's Beachclub and Sailing product offer nine Beachclubs in Turkey and Greece. As part of this survey, the operator therefore wanted to gauge consumer?s thoughts on travelling to Europe and in particular Greece following recent reports on the Eurozone crisis. The survey found that 78.6% of those surveyed were not deterred by recent news coverage of Greece, with 40.7% said they are more likely to have their summer holiday in Europe this year compared to previous years.
The results also showed holiday planning tends to take place over the short term rather than the long term with 40.4% of consumers saying they book their summer holiday two to five months in advance while 25.8% opt for a late deal.
When asked, ?Who makes the decision of where to go on your summer holiday in your family/relationship?? 38.4% of those surveyed said it was the whole family, which suggests children play an important role in deciding on the destination.
When asked what they look for when booking a summer holiday aside from cost, 28.2% of UK consumers surveyed said they look for a reputable tour operator while 24.8% look for excellent customer service.
For families looking to book a last minute holiday for half-term, the company is offering family savings for the October school holiday.
