Many of the events are taking place along the west coast with a choice of nearby rustic farmhouses, modern villas and cottage hideaways. As examples, every Sunday this month the Chopin Festival in Valldemossa showcases a variety of performances in the Valldemossa's Cartuja Monastery, where Chopin composed during his stay.
This year?s programme consists of works by Chopin as well as other composers. On August 26 and September 23 and 30, the Deia International Festival in Son Marroig is holding three concerts featuring works by Chopin, while from August 21 through to October, the Puerto Soller Classical Music Festival features an open-air piano concert and on September 25, pianist Alexander Malter performs his tribute to Chopin. Concerts take place in the former Santa Catalina monastery.
The Musical Mallorca Festival in Palma is also being staged from October to November where, on October 16, a special bicentenary tribute to Chopin will take place. The operator is highlighting a range of suitable accommodation to stay while visiting the events. For example, on Mallorca?s west coast, Villa Vista Azul is a three-bedroom seafront property, located close to Valldemossa.?
