LATA Expo opens its doors for its biggest edition to date

Europe’s largest travel show dedicated to Latin America is back and has opened its doors for its 10th anniversary edition, featuring more than 140 suppliers covering the length and breadth of the region.

For 2023, the theme of LATA Expo is the ‘Power of Tourism’, focusing on how tourism is a force for good by generating growth in local economies, creating job opportunities and raising funds for local initiatives.

The 10-year anniversary edition marks an important point in the Latin America tourism trajectory, with the WTTC predicting that 2023 will mark the long-awaited post-pandemic recovery of the region’s tourism sector, with GDP and employment levels expected to reach 2019 figures.

Some of the key tourism developments that will be highlighted at the Expo includes destination news from Sao Paulo, Cusco, Argentina, Ecuador and Belize; new tours and community initiatives from a whole host of operators; hotel updates and openings across the region; and the latest in train and cruise expeditions promising life changing experiences for any traveller.

LATA Expo will once again welcome the LATA Foundation to raise awareness and funds for those most in need in Latin America, with delegates being encouraged to decorate a jungle scene to create the ‘LATA Expo Toucan Tree’. Participants will pay a contribution to place their personally designed toucan in the jungle with the aim of creating a colourful spectacle at the end of the conference with the charity setting a £1,000 fundraising target.
