Options include a cliff top castle, a church wedding or in a registry office and packages start from ?1,849 for a registry office, ?2,299 for a church wedding or ?2,446 for a castle service. A wedding coordinator is on hand to deal with all the finer details of proceedings, as well as a bouquet of roses for the bride, groom?s button hole, wedding cake for up to ten guests and a photo album containing 40 colour shots. On arrival at the hotel, couples will receive an upgrade, subject to availability, plus a bottle of Slovenian wine.
All wedding services, regardless of the chosen package will be officiated in Slovenian with an official translator to offer the proceedings in English. After the service the couple can take a horse and carriage ride to Pletna Bay, where they and up to 12 guests can cruise to the island. Inline with tradition, the groom can then carry the silent bride up the 99 steps for good luck and happiness, and, in the presence of their two witnesses, can ring the church bell which is said to make wishes come true. The castle service includes a transfer for the couple and their two witnesses from the hotel to Bled Castle, as well as entrance to the castle for the wedding party.? The Church service is for Catholic couples only and the official proceedings will take place in a registry office, whilst a blessing will take place once on the island and in the church. Following the service the couple will be taken on a horse and carriage ride around the lake.
