Hurtigruten launches new excursion for the ultimate explorer experience

This winter, Hurtigruten has launched a new excursion that allows guests on its Antarctica voyages to pitch tents for a night on the frozen landscapes of Antarctica.

The excursion is aimed at adventure seekers and travels in a small group of no more than 15. Guests are supplied with outdoor equipment specially tailored to the region, including sleeping bags designed for use in extreme conditions and expedition tents that sleep two. Prices lead in at ?330 per person.


A Classic Expedition Voyage leads in at ?3,295 per person on MS Fram for a February 13 departure, where guests voyage through the Drakes Passage escorted by albatrosses and storm petrels before arriving at Antarctica.
The ten-day voyage includes full board on the ship, local charter flights to Ushuaia and lectures.


Flight packages from the UK to Buenos Aires are extra and cost from ?1,392 including transfers and two nights' breakfast accommodation in Buenos Aires pre- and post-voyage.
