p>Latest booking figures from Haven reveal a 60% rise in seven-night bookings across its Parks for May half-term, as tens of thousands of families decide to holiday at British resorts this spring.

Among the most popular destinations are traditional favourites such as the West Country and the South coast, but long-time classics such as Clacton-on-Sea, Great Yarmouth, and Blackpool are also soaring ahead.

The company?s head of retail sales, Allan Lambert, said: ?There has been a big increase in families booking longer breaks. We attribute this fact to the current uncertainty with flights, coupled with the recent spell of glorious weather that looks set to continue, resulting in people choosing to spend a week rather than a short break in the UK.

?Consumers are also holidaying much nearer to home. Statistically most of our holidaymakers drive about two hours to get to their choice of park, but our latest research shows that people are now travelling even shorter distances with many selecting destinations no more than an hour from where they live.?

Prices for the May half-term lead it at ?199 for a three-night break in two-bedroom Standard accommodation from today (May 28).The price is based on up to four sharing.
