p>Leger Holidays has revealed buoyant forward booking figures for 2010, marking a 10% increase on last year. The operator experienced its best month to date in October with trade bookings up significantly compared to the same time in 2008.
Overall booking patterns have shown that consumer habits have changed significantly over the past year with the number of people opting for holidays over one week increasing as holidaymakers invest in one longer break, for example Leger?s 14-day Dubrovnik and the Dalmatian Coast Grand Explorer tour has proved extremely popular.
It has also seen the popularity of its Battlefields and live sporting and cultural events breaks increase, with holidaymakers looking to get the ultimate experience from a short break.
Despite the optimistic results, Leger is predicting that 2010 will be another tough year for the industry and says it is working closely with agents to ensure that they are fully prepared to weather the storm.
Leger has 'significantly' increased investment and resource specifically for agents with a grassroots marketing campaign, increased promotional material via weekly alerts and agent incentive schemes, as well as continuing to develop its dedicated trade website.
Last month Leger launched its 2010 Experience Europe brochure with 32 new tours and an increased focus on its once-in-a-lifetime Grand Explorer experience holidays as well as UK and European live events.
Seven new specialist Battlefield tours have also been added in response to increased consumer interest in historical and educational breaks, as well as a number of all inclusive and added value breaks to help customers budget for while they are away more effectively.
