The 2014 weekly Avignon service will run between 28 June and 13 September, with fares available from only ?109 return.

The 2014 Avignon service has been extended by two weeks following high demand for Eurostar?s trial spring services to Lyon, Avignon and Aix-en-Provence. Based on the success of this trial, Eurostar intends to launch an extended year round service to the South of France in 2015.

Nick Mercer, commercial director for Eurostar said: ?The popularity of our 2013 Lyon Provence trial and our annual summer Avignon services shows us that the Brits love affair with the South of France is stronger than ever. By opening sales to Avignon earlier than usual and by extending services we are serving the growing number of people choosing high-speed rail over air. Journeys with Eurostar avoid the summer scramble at the airports and increasingly passengers see their rail journey as part of the holiday itself.?

Eurostar?s direct summer Avignon services are available from ?109 return in Standard class and ?249 return in Standard Premier. If direct services are full, Eurostar offers connecting services all year round which arrive into Avignon TGV station, located just outside the town centre. Tickets for the connecting services are available from 90 days in advance of travel from ?119 return in Standard class and ?239 return in Standard Premier.
