p>Emerald Waterways has launched its second ship for the 2014 season.
Emerald Star is a sister ship to Emerald Sky ? which was launched in April with British style icon Twiggy as Godmother ? and carries 182 guests in 72 suites and 20 staterooms,
including two specifically built for solo occupancy.
Items unique to both vessels include an on-board heated pool with a retractable roof, which transforms into a cinema in the evening,
and two restaurants. There is also a new type of cabin design that replaces the run-of-the-mill French balcony, common to most ships, with an indoor balcony complete
with decked area and an ingenious open-air system.
A hairdresser, massage therapy room and fitness area are also featured and all cruises include transfers to and from the ship; all meals on-board; unlimited tea and coffee;
wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; bottled water restocked daily in the cabins; continental breakfast, pre-dinner canap?s and after-dinner sweet treats served in the top suites; Wi-Fi; at least one included shore excursion almost every cruise day; visits to many UNESCO WorldHeritage Sites; and all tips.
The company is offering six itineraries this year, including an eight-day Nuremberg to Budapest Danube Delights cruise, an 11-day Classic Prague and Danube Delights cruise that adds three days in historic Prague, and a festive 15-day Christmas
Markets of Europe tour.
Next year the company plans to launch two further ?Star-Ships? ? Emerald Sun and Emerald Dawn ? and add additional routes, including an 11-day French sailing between Lyon and Arles; a ten-day Eastern Europe itinerary that explores the far
reaches of the Danube; and an eight-day Netherlands and Belgium exploration.
For clients booking their 2015 river cruise in advance, a ?500 discount per person is being offered on all river cruises ? as well as up to
?250 worth of on-board credit for free dependent on the duration of the river cruise. The offers are valid for bookings
made by June 13.
