Highlights include Masada, famous for its fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans almost 2,000 years ago; taking a dip in the salty waters of the Dead Sea; exploring the Old City and New City of Jerusalem; visiting Mount Zion to see King David?s tomb, the room of the Last Supper and the Dormition Abbey and a tour of Bethlehem to see the Church of the Nativity.
Travellers will also visit the world?s oldest city, Jericho, drive through the Hula Valley to Safed, city of Kabbalah and one of the four holiest cities in Judaism, and driving along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum to visit the ruins of an ancient synagogue. The final day is spent in Haifa to visit the Bahai Shrine, Persian Garden and Mount Carmel for a panoramic view of the city and bay, before a final short city tour of Tel Aviv-Jaffa.
This tour costs from ?1,369 per person in May, June and July, and from ?1,449 in August and includes flights from Luton, Gatwick or Manchester, bed and breakfast accommodation for 7-nights and all excursions and entry fees as per the itinerary. Travellers going in May will also get a free upgrade to half board (after May this costs ?70 per person).
