Cancun's Marriott Resort to reopen as all-inclusive

Marriott International will debut its first all-inclusive property at the site of the previous Marriott Cancun Resort in early 2024.

The resort, which closed its doors last March to undergo an extensive renovation, will reopen as the Marriott Cancun, An All-Inclusive Resort early next year to continue its legacy on the Yucatan Peninsula.

Alex Fiz, managing director All-Inclusive for Marriott International and Area vice president Caribbean, said: “Travellers will be relieved to discover that they will not be bidding their beloved Marriott Cancun Resort a permanent goodbye, but instead, expecting a very exciting reopening with a more modern product, as the property is being reimagined by Marriott, and utilising the space to offer a sophisticated twist to the traditional all-inclusive concept.”

“Cancun is one of the world’s most exclusive resort destinations, an ideal fit for the first Marriott branded all-inclusive hotel and a future renewed hub for its trusting guests and our Marriott Bonvoy members that look for a wonderful stay in a seamless all-inclusive format.”

The resort plans to redefine the meaning behind ‘all-inclusive’ in both the service offered and in terms of accommodating the different lifestyles of the visiting guests. Marriott Cancun will feature newly designed rooms, suites, lobbies, meeting space and public areas, as well as renovated restaurant concepts, expansive pools, and an extensive water park and lazy river.
