Brits save for next year's summer break

The British spend so much on their annual summer holiday that millions of us are already saving for our getaway in 2012 according to the latest survey by Holidayextras.com Some 42%?of those questioned said they would spend ?1,000 or more per person on this years summer holiday, with 9% preparing to fork out ?2,000.

Just 24% had a budget of less than ?500 per person. The survey also revealed that 45% said they were saving for this year's holiday and 10% were already saving for next year's, while a fortunate 41% said they didn't need to save at all. The survey also found that women were more focused on saving than men, with 50% of them saving for this year's holiday, compared with 40% of men.

 

The company's?head of product innovation and development,?Anthony Clarke-Cowell, said: "Many people spend all year looking forward to their holiday so it's no surprise that they want to spend a lot of money and have an amazing time."
