A&K launches tours to Sudan?s Kingdom of the Black Pharaohs & South Africa?s KwaZulu Natal

Abercrombie & Kent has teamed up with African historian and storyteller, Rob Caskie, to launch two exclusive tours for this year. Caskie will lead trips to Northern Sudan; The Kingdom of the Black Pharaohs and South Africa?s famous Zulu Battlefields of KwaZulu Natal. The Battlefields of KwaZulu Natal tour takes place from April 7-13 and guests will visit the battlefield sites of Isandlwana, Rorke?s Drift to learn about the missionary post defended by 139 British soldiers in the face of 4,000 Zulus and Spioenkop, where guests will learn about the crushed hopes of British forces when daybreak revealed the disastrous position of the trenches they had dug throughout the night.
The Kingdom of the Black Pharaohs tour in Sudan runs from October 14-21 and guests will trace the footsteps of the outnumbered Sudanese army in their battle against the Ethiopian forces. Highlights include visiting the battlefields of Metemma, Jebel Abu Tulayh and Abu Kru; learning about Nubian culture from historic tales; and staying in a tented camp in Meroe, overlooking the floating pyramids of the Black Pharaohs.
