A cracking season of chocolate in York

With Easter just around the corner, York is celebrating its status as ?Britain?s Home of Chocolate? with a duo of delicious events to treat sweet-tooths across the region.

The Great York Bunny Search will see families exploring the streets of York in search of brightly coloured ceramic rabbits which have been stowed away in shop windows for keen-eyed chocolate fans to discover. All bunnies are decorated by local businesses and artists, some of which will be brought to auction via visityork.org/easter. The event will take place between April 2-23, and all proceeds from The Great York Bunny Search will go to the York Teaching Hospital Charity.

Chocolate fans can also go wild for the York Chocolate Festival on Parliament Street, taking place on April 19-22. Guests will be able to sample treats and pick up some chocolate making tips of their own along the way. Shambles Food Court will be home to an Easter egg trail, as well as a petting farm where guests can interact with their favourite furry friends. York?s Chocolate Story will also be organising the Easter Bunny?s Chocolate Egg Hunt, Chocolate Easter Egg Masterclasses and an enlightening Easter Tour, with eggs hidden across Treasurer?s House, Castle Howard and Beningbrough Hall.

?You would be hopping mad to miss out,? remarked Paul Whiting, head of Visit York.
