Catalonia will be the 2025 World Region of Gastronomy, a distinction awarded by the International Institute of Gastronomy, Culture, Arts, and Tourism (IGCAT). This recognition highlights Catalonia’s innovative tourism model, where the gastronomic revolution extends beyond restaurants, showcasing the region’s distinctive local products.

The region proudly holds 54 restaurants with Michelin stars, being the territory with the highest number of Michelin star restaurants. Wine and Cava are also part of Catalonia’s history. There is not only one wine landscape, there are 12 denominations of origin, over 300 wineries that you can visit and 9 wine routes. From a gastronomic point of view, there are 12 products with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and 10 with Protected Geographical Indication (PGI), many of which you can discover directly with their producers all year round
