Prestige Holidays has expanded its Italian offering for 2020 with the addition of three properties in Sicily, one in Lake Garda and the introduction of journeys on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
Breaks in Italy lead in at ?554 per person for a seven-night break to Hotel Cala Marina in Sicily?s Castellammare del Golfo. Departing on April 14, 2020, the price includes private airport transfers and return flights from London Stansted to Palermo with Ryanair.
The operator has added Aeolian Island of Vulcano for 2020. The island, known for its dormant volcanoes, sulphur mud baths on the beach, snorkelling and diving, sits off Sicily?s northeast coast. Vulcano joins the Aeolian island of Lipari already featured by Prestige.
Vulcano?s Therasia Resort Sea & Spa is set on a rocky headland with two bars, a choice of restaurants (one with a Michelin star) plus four pools and a spa. Yoga, Pilates, cookery and cocktail making classes are on offer too. Stays start from ?1,339 per person for a week?s break including flights from London Gatwick to Catania, private airport transfers, return hydrofoil crossings to and from the island and bed & breakfast accommodation at Therasia Resort Sea & Spa for six nights and The Ashbee in Taormina for one night.
New in Western Sicily is the De Gregorio Suites hotel in the fishing town of Sciacca. The historic 'palazzo' has four suites and is in the heart of the historic centre with its baroque architecture, pavement caf?s, restaurants, bars and ceramic shops. It is closely located from the working port with its large fish markets.
Guests can also explore the Valley of the Temples and the ruins and archaeological sites of Selinunte and Segesta from Sciacca. A week?s stay starts from ?899 per person including flights from London Stansted to Palermo, car hire and bed & breakfast accommodation.
In the capital of Palermo, Prestige has introduced the 'olde world' Excelsior Palace Palermo located on the Via Della Libert?. The hotel has the feel of a bygone Sicily and is a 10-minute stroll from the city?s centre, with its markets, caf?s, churches and historical monuments. A three-night break starts from ?615 per person including return flights from London Stansted, private airport transfers and B&B accommodation.
The operator is also offering journeys to or from Venice on Venice Simplon-Orient-Express.
David Skillicorn, commercial director for the tour operator, said: ?As a specialist tour operator it?s important our Italian programme contains a mix of authentic and classic properties as well as a handful of hidden gems and small hotels not on sale elsewhere. The hotels we have added this year reflect this desire.
We are also delighted to be offering our clients the chance to experience the timeless glamour of Venice Simplon-Orient Express, which we are confident will prove popular.?
