New York City puts agents at the heart of luxury focus

Julie Coker, CEO of NYC Tourism + Conventions, on stage at IPW 2025 in Chicago.

President and CEO of New York City Tourism + Conventions, Julie Coker, iterated that the board is "focused on fostering strong trade relationships" and unveiled a Luxury Hub exclusively for agents to help bolster the city's affluent traveller figures—which surpassed 10.7 million in 2024

As well as the new hub, exclusively for luxury travel agents and password protected, NYC Tourism + Conventions is bolstering its NYC Travel Trade Academy with a luxury module and committed to updating its B2B NYC Luxury Guide regularly.

Continuing, Julie highlighted luxury travellers' three-fold economic impact on the city's economy against its average visitor, despite representing just 17% of total visitation last year.

"This influential segment delivers extraordinary economic impact, and we remain focused on... showcasing the one-of-a-kind NYC opportunities—from world-class accommodations and dining to culture and shopping—that can only be found across businesses in all five boroughs."

Several luxury staples return to the city's scene this year, with the reopening of the Four Seasons Hotel New York and Waldorf Astoria New York in quick succession offering two iconic accommodation options alongside new openings like Faena New York, overlooking the High line, and The Luxury Collection Hotel Manhattan Midtown, which this month celebrates its first anniversary.
