The operator is anticipating a 20,000-customer boost annually after acquiring the Dutch experiential travel specialist Sawadee
Sawadee currently operates tours in 100 countries, employing 180 people and delivering over 250 trips.
Those numbers make the acquisition Intrepid Travel's largest-ever, adding around £50 million and 20,000 customers to the operator's annual results.
Both operators are coming off the back of record financial results in 2024, with Intrepid Travel's fuelled by several developments including the launch of a dedicated rail range.
Intrepid Travel's CEO James Thornton said the acquisition "is a major step towards... Intrepid['s] aim to be the world’s largest vertically integrated experiential travel company."
Sawadee will continue to operate under managing director Berend Simons, who promised to "continue to deliver amazing trips for our customers and create impact for the communities we visit."
