83% of Brits consider ditching the beach for an active break

A recent Travelzoo survey suggests that, while over half of Brits are looking for a beach break this year, 83% overall would be willing to swap a coastal escape for a more active adventure

38% of those surveyed said they have returned home from a more traditional 'relaxing' break exhausted; hence the eight in 10 who crave a more fulfilling active break instead.

Almost four in 10 (38%) of those looking to stay active abroad attributed that demand to a motivation to feel healthier or more active; 49% said they believe the travel style is more conducive to creating lasting memories.

Almost a third (32%) believe a more active break contributes to a genuine sense of achievement.

Inspired by the survey results, Travelzoo has unveiled a month-long 'Guide to Soft Adventure' campaign, encouraging guests to break out of their comfort zone without 'roughing it'. The campaign sees partnerships with Inntravel, Titan Travel and Trafalgar Travel (among others) to develop exclusive deals and content for those inspired.
