Travel Counsellors Founder and Chairman, David Speakman will be hosting a special seminar session at this year?s World Travel Market, sharing his views and insights into how agents can survive against the threat of the internet in today?s industry.

The session will take place on Wednesday November 5 at 10:30 at London?s ExCeL. Delegates will hear first-hand from travel entrepreneur Speakman who will discuss how technology has changed since Travel Counsellors was founded 20 years ago, since the rise of the digital age and the threat of OTAs to traditional travel agencies.

Speakman said: ?In today?s industry it?s essential that agents adapt and relate to the changes and advancements in technology and the internet. Our business is based on trust and relationships, something an online booking tool simply can?t replicate. I look forward to sharing my own insights and experiences with others, highlighting how it is possible to not only compete, but also flourish in what many perceive as an internet dominated age.?

The session will also focus on the importance of trust and personalisation when selling travel, and how this will enable agents to flourish against the transactional on-line model. Speakman will highlight the many pitfalls of researching and booking travel on the internet, and how agents can utilise these to their advantage.

The session will be open to all delegates interested in finding out more about the future of travel and technology, and there will be an open Q&A session with David within the talk.
