Palladium Hotel Group pursues ?white? path to Ibiza expansion

Spanish hotel chain Palladium Hotel Group is expanding its presence on the Balearic island of Ibiza with the opening of the new five-star Grand Palladium White Island Resort and Spa in the resort of Playa d?en Bossa.

The new beachfront, all-inclusive property will be formed from a redevelopment of the former Fiesta Club Palm Beach, which will then be linked to the neighbouring Grand Palladium Palace Ibiza resort.

This will lead to the creation of the biggest resort on the island with 841 rooms. The redesign of the two properties will see the introduction of more contemporary decor, a large freshwater pool with an integrated Jacuzzi, kids? splash pool, Zentropia Palladium Spa, gym, water circuit with a heated pool, sauna, Turkish bath and tennis courts.

The hotel group will also be giving its entertainment programme a more modern twist for the children, with a variety of kids? clubs offering age-appropriate activities and an interactive tech zone, with Wiis, PlayStations and a mini-cinema.
There will also be four a la carte restaurants, three of which will be Italian, Mexican and Mediterranean themed, as well as snack bars and a cafe.

Marketing director I?aky Bau said: ?This new hotel is an exciting project for us as a hotel group but also for the island of Ibiza, because it will form part of a regeneration project for the resort of Playa d?en Bossa. Our objective is to make the resort one of the leading luxury destinations in the Mediterranean.

?The UK is our biggest market so we are keen to work with agents to get the message out about the new resort. Agents are already very familiar with our Fiesta properties so our trade team in the UK will be attending trade roadshows to communicate information about the new property and other changes within the company. We are also looking at ways to incentivise agents too."

Bau said that the company is also undergoing a restructure, which will see the Palladium Hotels and Palladium Boutique Hotels brands brought under the luxury Palladium Hotels and Resorts umbrella.

Also, three of its Ibiza properties ?  Fiesta Hotel Palmyra, Fiesta Hotel Don Carlos and Fiesta Cala Llonga ? are also being introduced into the Palladium Hotels and Resorts portfolio as the hotel group commits to offering a more luxury, quality product to clients who are fans of the group?s Fiesta properties.

The Fiesta Hotel Palmyra will be rebranded as the Palladium Hotel Palmyra, while Fiesta Hotel Don Carlos and Fiesta Cala Llonga will be renamed the Palladium Hotel Don Carlos and the Palladium Hotel Cala Llonga.
