A study of post-holiday blues by Jet2holidays asked holidaymakers what were the strangest things travellers have done to get over the condition.

Quitting work, redecorating in the style of the hotel and having a baby were just some of the methods we turn to get through the post-holiday blues according to the survey.

Booking another holiday and gorging on takeaways were also two of the most popular ways of coping with the feeling of sadness after getting back from a trip away.

The operator found that up to 70% of British adults admit to suffering from post holiday blues, with women far more likely to experience it.

Age also dictates whether you are likely to suffer, with post-holiday blues more common in younger people (85% in 18-24-year-olds) than older generations (just 60% in 55+ year-olds), while twice as many holidaymakers in Wales and Scotland admitted to getting blue once they?d got home.
