WTM UPDATE: from Manchester to Tel Aviv with EL AL

EL AL Israel Airlines has announced to the trade a new direct flight from Manchester to Tel Aviv.

The new route is scheduled to start on May 26, 2019, with flights from Manchester Airport to Ben Gurion Airport operating on a Boeing 737-800 aircraft with two service classes - Business Class and Economy Class - three times per week.

Launching the route from Manchester Airport in response to strong demand from both travel agents and consumers alike, Malu Montenegro, the airline’s sales and marketing manager for UK and Ireland, said: “This is very exciting for us and that we would like to convey the message to the travel agent community in the north that we are and always will be listening to them. We shall be working closely with Manchester Airport to make sure we promote the route effectively and will also be working with the Israel Government Tourism Office to further support the destination.”

The new route ties effectively into the Israel Government Tourist Office’s current ‘Two Sunny Cities, One Break’ campaign showcasing the highlights of both Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Ben Gurion is conveniently located between the two and offers an ideal starting point for cultural city breaks, adventure and beach holidays in Israel.

The route will open a wide array of selling opportunities for agents, not only as direct fully-serviced departure point in the north of the UK but also, and a key differentiator, offering two cabins in Economy and Business Class.

Marking the announcement, the airline is to offer a series of introductory rates including on return fares: Economy Class from £289 (hand baggage only) and Business Class from £929. These special offers will run until November 26 and are valid for travel from May 26 – September 24, 2019.

The airline will also be at Travel Bulletin’s showcase events promoting the new route and engaging in face to face training with agents into the New Year.
