WTM news: Israeli visitor numbers soar in 2019
Israeli tourism bosses are continuing with their campaign Two Cities, One Break, following another year of huge visitor numbers.
From September to October, tourists numbers went up by 11 per cent. The figures show that there were 852,000 tourists in these two months compared with 767,000 tourist arrivals last year.
Tourism minister Yariv Levin said: ?October continues to increase the tide of tourist arrivals with impressive increases and breaking new highs. In spite of all the challenges we face, we are able to implement Israel?s marketing policy globally in accordance with an innovative and audience-focused strategy ? and see results. We are seeing increases in new markets where we are investing, alongside preserving markets where Israel is already an attractive target. The contribution of tourism is tremendous in both the economic and diplomatic aspects and I am proud of it.?
The Two Cities, One Break promotion encourages travellers to visit Jerusalem - Israel?s ancient capital, the Holy City - and Tel Aviv, with its nightlife, cultural and culinary scene in one trip.
