With change in the travel industry occurring faster than ever, Tourism Australia has launched a weekly UK version of ?Essentials? industry news updates.
Essentials gives updates on recent news from Australia and Tourism Australia?s activities in the UK.
The UK Essentials will include the UK-relevant industry news from Australia, product updates, Aussie Specialist Programme updates for agents and other information relevant to booking holidays to Australia.
Sally Cope, regional general manager, UK and Northern Europe, has shared the first edition of Tourism Australia?s Essentials newsletter for the UK and Northern Europe. She said that the onset of coronavirus has brought with it heart-breaking losses for the global tourism industry, while in Australia, the crisis dealt another blow to a tourism sector that was just starting to recover from the impact of the bushfires.
Fortunately, Australia?s response to COVID-19 has thus far shown positive results with the government recently outlining a roadmap for states and territories to implement at their discretion. Brits and Northern Europeans are resilient travellers who will begin to explore the world again as soon as they are given permission to do so and Australia will have a warm welcome. Until then, regular updates will be shared regarding all activities.
