Specialist Leisure Group announces partnership with Alder Hey charity for 2020

Specialist Leisure Group (SLG) has announced a new partnership with Alder Hey Children?s Hospital Charity for 2020 to raise funds to tackle childhood asthma.

To support its charity, SLG is currently putting together a programme of customer, staff and agent fundraising activities to help the company achieve its target of raising ?150,000 during 2020. A host of events are planned that will involve all staff in the 75 SLG locations around the UK.

Richard Calvert, CEO of the group, said: ?We are really proud of this new partnership and plan to work with Alder Hey to help fund pioneering research and development to target asthma amongst children. Asthma is the most common chronic disease amongst children in the world and in the UK there are 1.1m children currently being treated for asthma, which is an incredible one in every 11 children. Tragically 15 children die as a result of asthma in the UK every year and that?s 15 too many.?

SLG?s goal is to help fund research and development that will not only help children throughout the UK but internationally through Alder Hey.

Calvert added: ?With over 5 million people suffering from asthma in the UK, then statistically many people within the SLG family will either suffer from asthma themselves or have children or child relatives who have this disease. There is nothing more precious in this world than children and we want to play a part in helping.?
