South Australian Tourism Commission embraces Remo Technology

The South Australian Tourism Commission’s Adelaide team worked with their London team to run a virtual workshop on May 12 connecting 15 operators from South Australia with 20 UK buyers and other senior decision-makers from companies in Scandinavia, Holland and Belgium.

These buyers and operators were supposed to be networking face to face at the Australian Tourism Exchange, Melbourne. Hence, to support the South Australian tourism industry while providing new information to sellers of Australia in UK and North Europe, the virtual event was set up to ensure those meetings to proceed.

Using technology platform, Remo, all guests were welcomed by the South Australian Tourism Commission’s CEO, Rodney Harrex and Janice Kurrle, the SATC’s UK / Northern Europe marketing manager.

Buyers then moved around the 15 tables on a seven-minute appointment rotation. At each table, an operator presented their product or experience and then took questions from the buyers. This was well received by all participants who came away with a whole raft of new product updates from South Australia.

Tom Waite, product manager, Kuoni, said: “It was great to get some important updates, see some new products and also to see so many familiar faces. I look forward to furthering Australia events along this format.”

Jen Snow, freedom destinations, added: “What an amazing morning! I cannot tell how much it has lifted my spirits and how nice it was to get back to doing my day job. It was lovely to hear stories of positivity and resilience from the SA suppliers, and also to touch base with other product managers.”

The sellers included: The Frames, Murray River, Chinta Air Tours, Escapegoat Adventures, Mercure Kangaroo Island Lodge, Sea Dragon Lodge, Gawler Ranges Wilderness Safaris, Kangaroo Island Wilderness Tours, North Adelaide Heritage Group, See Adelaide & Beyond, Rawnsley Park Station/ Barossa Shiraz, Southern Ocean Walk, Clare Valley Tourism, Coast & Co, Sequoia / Mount Lofty House, Murray River Trails.
