Created as a new tourism body in 2016 and commencing international operations in late 2017, Setouchi Tourism Authority has launched a new website at

It includes a dedicated travel trade portal, including access to the Official Setouchi Travel Guide, road maps and sightseeing information, to equip travel agents with practical information when advising customers. This area of the site will continue to be developed, with a view to providing tour operators with listings, while trade partners can access the travel trade section via a link located on the homepage.

Agents can also access a travel directory from which they can recommend local attractions, restaurants and events for their clients. The website, which offers a wealth of tourist information for the destination, has launched at a time when the desire to visit Japan has never been greater.

The destination welcomes 300,000 annual UK visitors and has experienced an annual growth rate of between 10% and-15%. The fully optimised, mobile-friendly site offers consumers and trade useful information about travelling to the region, maps, inspiring itineraries and a visual guide to activities and adventures throughout Setouchi, with six distinguished sections for ‘adventure and experience’; ‘art and culture’; ‘history’; ‘sea and nature’; ‘food and drink’ and ‘relaxing stays’.

A booking mechanism which is powered by Voyagin has also been integrated, enabling agents to book tours for their clients – from ancient temples to UNESCO World Heritage sites – in advance.
