Regent Seven Seas Explorer to feature in new Channel 5 documentary

Regent Seven Seas Explorer is going to be showcased in a four-part documentary, 'Behind the Scenes', airing on Channel 5 in the UK starting Friday, August 23 at 9 pm.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises allowed independent documentary makers ITN Productions to shoot the opulence on board, capturing the first-class personalised service provided by the ship’s crew.

With complete access over two cruises around the Iberian Peninsula, the Bay of Biscay and Baltic Sea, the programme provides great insight into what it takes to run a luxury, all-inclusive cruise ship.

The first episode follows John Barron, the ship’s cruise director, as he gets ready for his opening performance with a new group of passengers, while Head Butler, Raju, prepares the Regent Suite for the next guests. On land, senior executive chef, Michael, and food & beverage director, Stephane, explore local Spanish markets to find fresh fish to serve in the speciality restaurant at sea, Compass Rose, later that day.

The remaining three episodes will air at 9pm on August 30,  September 6 and 13.

Graham Sadler, managing director, EMEA, for the cruise line, said: “We are incredibly excited about this documentary which illustrates the attention to detail, professionalism and hard work that goes into providing the unrivalled experience found on board Seven Seas Explorer, and indeed on each luxurious Regent Seven Seas Cruises ship.”

Seven Seas Explorer was christened by Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Monaco in  2016. The all-suite, all-balcony ship carries 750 guests.

It will return to Europe and the Caribbean throughout 2020. In 2021, Seven Seas Explorer will be spending Spring and Autumn in Asia, with its first summer season in Alaska in between.

The cruise line is providing promotional assets including a digital banner and a printable flyer to help the UK travel trade take advantage of the awareness that the documentary will generate. The toolkit will be sent by email.
