Regent announces immersive experiences for 2020 Alaskan sailings

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has announced a new collection of immersive experiences both on-ship and on-land to be included in all 2020 Alaskan sailings.

The cruise line’s new Alaska programme features exclusive engagements for guests to expand their Alaskan knowledge.

Jason Montague, president and CEO of the cruise line, said: “As the world’s leading luxury ocean cruise line, we continue to create even more immersive experiences for truly unrivalled Alaskan voyages in 2020.

“First, we are bringing the destination to life on board Seven Seas Mariner with unforgettable raptors, renowned folk singers, Tlingit historians, and cuisine and culture unique to the destination. Next, we are enhancing shore excursions with new Go Local Tours and other engagements led by residents. Finally, for the first time, Regent has curated Alaskan excursions for youth enrolled in our Club Mariner Youth Programme.”

The exclusive programme includes unique cultural experiences on board Seven Seas Mariner for guests. These activities are scheduled for times after guests have returned from most shore excursions.

Destination experts, heritage and culture experts, Iditarod and nature experts share their knowledge with the guests during the journey.

A variety of quintessential Alaskan cuisine is served onshore and onboard. A Great American Salmon Bake & Barbeque is held on the pool deck of each voyage, and guests may enjoy their own fresh catch from a shore excursion earlier in the day, which will be prepared by Regent chefs.

Guests will get to savour the craft brews of the Alaskan Brewing Company, or they can indulge in a cocktail, from an Alaskan Iced Tea to the Golden Rush.

With Go Local Tours, guests can engage in local experiences led by community residents. They will learn about some of the locals’ favourite spots to eat and explore the hidden gems of Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway and Sitka.

Youths aged seven to 17 can participate in excursions designed for Club Mariner Youth Programme participants on outings in Ketchikan, Juneau, Sitka and Icy Strait Point, accompanied by counsellors.

All Alaska voyages in 2020 are aboard 700-guest Seven Seas Mariner.
