New ship launch for Riviera Travel

Riviera Travel River Cruises is to launch two new river cruise ships in 2015.


In addition to the previously announced MS Jane Austen, the company will add the five-star MS Charles Dickens, sister ship to the MS William Shakespeare, to its programme. Charles Dickens will carry 140 passengers and has a crew of 35 members.


On board facilities include a lounge, two bars, outside seating, restaurant, fitness suite, Sun deck, sauna and hairdressing salon. Cabins on the upper and middle decks are spacious and feature a safe, telephone, hair dryer, tea and coffee making facilities plus individually controlled air-conditioning and flat screen TV with satellite channels. Cabins on the lower deck are slightly smaller at 14sq.m and feature the same amenities, while cabins for sole occupancy are available on this deck at no supplement, subject to availability.


Itineraries for 2015 include an eight-day The Blue Danube option from ?1,249 per person, an eight-day Cruise the Heart of Europe from ?1,299 and an eight-day Rhine Cruise to Switzerland from ?1,349. Prices are based on two sharing a lower deck cabin and include Standard Class Eurostar and excursions. Flights are available at a supplement.


Meanwhile, the company has introduced three new escorted tours - a 22-day option in New Zealand from ?3,999, a five-day Iceland itinerary from ?799 and a six-day Stockholm & Copenhagen option from ?869.
