Emerald Waterways is highlighting its 12-day river cruise itinerary in Russia for 2019, which is home to a wealth of architectural cities and unique experiences.

The 12-day Imperial Charms of Russia river cruise sails the river Volga, the largest river in Europe, on the authentic MS Rossia.
David Winterton, the company's global brand curator, said: “We have always put authentic and unique experiences at the forefront of our river cruises, offering guests the opportunity to explore new and exciting destinations.

“Russia offers so much in the way of culture and history, and sailing the Volga is the perfect way to discover all of the fantastic architectural sights. We hope that this itinerary will whet the appetite of our guests who want to experience a unique culture and imperial grandeurs.”

The cruise commences in St. Petersburg, the capital of the Russian Empire, and guests will take a guided coach tour through Nevsky Prospect, the main boulevard of St Petersburg and admire the sights of the monument of Catherine the Great.
Other highlights include visiting the Heritage Museum, one of the largest in the world, before travelling to the picturesque village of Mandrogi, located on the river Svir, part of the Valaam islands.
