Mid-counties? Co-op holidays launches travel promise

Co-op Holidays has launched the ?Co-op Holidays Promise?.

The new initiative, launched alongside an industry-leading COVID-19 inclusive travel insurance policy in conjunction with Rock Insurance, has been developed to bring holidaymakers security and peace of mind from the moment they book their getaway.

The Co-op Holidays Promise, which is applicable on any future holiday bookings made for travel from now features four main elements:

Book it ? Deposits start from ?49per person, one of the lowest deposit fees charged by any tour operator.

Change it ? Admin fees by Co-op Holidays, previously charged for changes, have been dropped. If holidaymakers decide to change their travel plans, the only costs incurred will be those charged by third-party suppliers, for example airlines or hoteliers. If prices increase or fall, as a result of the change, customers will either pay the extra or be refunded the difference.

Cancel it ? Guests can change their mind and cancel their holiday, for any reason, up to six weeks before travel, and only lose the original deposit paid.

Refund it ? If Co-op Holidays has to cancel the holiday for any reason, cash refunds will be paid to customers within 10 working days, including their deposit. Co-op Holidays will not issue deferred refunds or refund credit notes.

The Co-op Holidays Promise is announced alongside an insurance scheme in conjunction with Rock Insurance that includes automatic cancellation and medical cover for COVID-19 at no additional charge. The cover is included in all new policies issued now, and Rock has also agreed to back date the cover to all policies issued since April 14, 2020 where EIG is the underwriter.

Hugh Smith, operations manager, Co-op Holidays, said: ?As part of an independent co-operative society, we'll always put our customers and members first. Without security and peace of mind, their holiday experience cannot properly begin, so we are launching our ?Co-op Holidays Promise??.

Rad Sofronijevic, chief operating officer of Mid-counties Co-operative?s travel division, added: ?With customers tentatively but excitedly returning to our high street stores and to their personal travel providers, now is the perfect time to be able to offer the extra reassurances that the ?Co-op Holidays Promise? and our new insurance policy brings."
