Mexico?s Riviera Nayarit releases tourism wellness guide

Mexico?s Riviera Nayarit Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has unveiled a Tourism Wellness and Best Practices Guide that outlines the elevated standard of sanitation and safety protocols.

It aims to reduce the risk of COVID-19 transmission in time for the destination?s anticipated reopening later this summer. The destination is home to a total of four AAA Five Diamond hotels, 11 AAA Four Diamond hotels, one AAA Five Diamond restaurant, six AAA Four Diamond restaurants, 13 AAA Three Diamond hotels and 26 AAA Three Diamond restaurants.

Riviera Nayarit?s Tourism Wellness and Best Practices Guide is meant to serve as a resource for local establishments seeking guidance on what the new industry standards are and how to best prepare for when travel resumes. The guide indicates traveller and employee expectations; best practices and sanitation protocols specific to hotels, restaurants, airports, tour operators and spas, as well as proper health screenings and credible resources certification programmes.

Marc Murphy, managing director for the Riviera Nayarit CVB, said: "The Riviera Nayarit CVB is ready to support our destination partners to once again rise to the challenge and elevate Riviera Nayarit's safety and sanitation standards that will allow us to be ready to welcome travellers back to Mexico?s Pacific treasure. Riviera Nayarit will continue to work closely with the local and federal Mexican Government in preparation for the summer reopening of its tourism sector?.
