Madhya Pradesh Tourism announces fam trip offer for WTM attending agents

Madhya Pradesh Tourism will showcase the state's rich wildlife offering to UK and international travellers during World Travel Market (WTM) from November 4-6.

It will offer one lucky travel agent the chance to win a fam trip to Madhya Pradesh at this year's WTM. To stand a chance of winning, agents should book in a meeting with the tourist board and answer a question about the state in order to enter a business card prize draw. Meetings can be booked by emailing mpt@gecpr.co.uk. Alternatively, agents can pose for a photograph with a tiger or Mowgli on the stand (AS530) and share online with the tags #MPTourism and @MPTourism on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter.

This year, the state's tourism minister, Shri Surendra Singh Baghel, will be attending the London event.

The tourism board has recently launched Runcation Mobile App on Android and iOS platforms which will provide information to tourists about the various destinations in Madhya Pradesh, such as well as helping them discover facts about the state and book accommodation. Tourists can also explore destinations on the app through 3,600 photos and quizzes.

The state in the heart of India is most famous for its six tiger reserves. Thanks to its 10,000 sq km of national parks, it accounts for almost a fifth of India's tiger population and is known as the 'Tiger State'.

The state is home to 11 national parks and 24 wildlife sanctuaries. Its forests form about 25% of its land area and are a refuge for barking deer, leopards, spotted deer, wild boars, blackbucks, nilgais and crocodiles. The state's butterfly park in Raisen district, spreads over three hectares and houses 65 breeding species and nearly 137 plant varieties.

Speaking about the travel trade show, Shri Surendra Singh Baghel said: “Madhya Pradesh Tourism is thrilled to be returning to World Travel Market. The friendly people of Madhya Pradesh are eagerly looking forward to showcasing their extensive wildlife offering, exquisite traditional culture, rich heritage, cuisine, and Indian hospitality”.
