LATA Foundation raises ?2666 at annual travel industry pub quiz

The LATA Foundation has raised a record-breaking ?2666.86 at its annual travel industry pub quiz which took place earlier this month in London and attended by more than 100 travel industry guests.

The funds will all be invested into the LATA Foundation?s ten core charity initiatives in Latin America.

Sponsored by the Belize Tourist Board, and supported by British Airways and Iberia, along with many organisations that donated raffle prizes, the quiz was attended by most of the UK?s major Latin America tour operators split into 15 company teams, many of which are already supporters of the foundation.

Created by the Latin America travel industry in the UK, the LATA Foundation?s mission is to support grassroots projects throughout Latin America to help transform lives, supply clean water, provide dental or medical support and offer practical training and skills to empower local communities.

The organisation?s chairman, Chris Pickard, said: ?On behalf of the Trustees of the LATA Foundation we would like to thank everyone - individuals and companies - that were involved in the annual LATA Foundation pub quiz. It does not matter if you came along to take part, supported the raffle, or were involved with the organisation, we, and the people you are helping in Latin America, "Thank You". We are of course absolutely delighted to have achieve a record-breaking sum of ?2666.86.  A final big thank you to our main sponsor, Belize, who made the evening possible."
