Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines unveils North American Waterways and Canadian Fall 2023 cruise

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has offered the first look of its 2023 schedule, with an early release of a ‘North American Waterways and Canadian Fall’ cruise.

The 34-night cruise will set sail from Southampton, UK on September 26, 2023 and visit Canadian and US ports, before a maiden sailing of the Hudson River and cruising along the Cape Cod Canal, Chesapeake and Delaware Canal in Baltimore. The ship, Balmoral will be calling at St John’s in Newfoundland (overnight stay), Sydney, Nova Scotia in Halifax (overnight stay), Saint John in New Brunswick, before reaching Portland in Maine, Boston in Massachusetts. The next destination will be Cape Cod Canal and the Statue of Liberty in New York, where it will stop for two nights; and move to the Hudson River, Chesapeake and Delaware Canal, with an overnight stay in Baltimore and Maryland. It will head towards Hamilton in Bermuda next and take a detour of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel and Azores in Portugal, and La Coruña, Galicia in Spain before returning to Southampton, UK.

Bookings made by September 30, 2020 will receive a credit of up to £300 per person to spend on board.

Clare Ward, director of product and customer service, said: “This is set to be an exceptional itinerary, timed so that guests will be able to witness the autumnal beauty of the destinations. We will be sailing to Canada after 2019, and it is a destination our guests enjoy visiting. The opportunity to cruise along the Hudson River in New York is very exciting, as it is a maiden sailing for us, made possible by the small size of Balmoral. The credit worth £300 to spend on board, will allow the guests to sit back and relax and enjoy all of the benefits of a small ship cruising.”

For Balmoral’s L2323 ‘North American Waterways & Canadian Fall’ cruise, departing from Southampton on September 26, 2023, prices start from £5,299 per person.

This is the first itinerary which has been released from Fred. Olsen’s 2023 cruise programme, and follows up from the early release of two cruises in 2022: the 17-night W2210 ‘Whales, Waterfalls & Volcanic Islands’ sailing, which was announced in partnership with ORCA last year, and the 28-night L2222 ‘Black Sea Discovery with the Mediterranean’ cruise unveiled last week.
