Fred. Olsen Braemar Corinth Canal

Fred. Olsen announces third Corinth Canal sailing on Braemar

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has confirmed that its 929-guest Braemar will be returning to the Corinth Canal in September 2022 for a third time, offering even more guests the opportunity to experience this record-breaking sailing.

Braemar made history in October this year by becoming the largest ship to sail the 6.4-kilometre canal, which is only 24 metres wide at its narrowest point.

The cruise line has unveiled its new Corinth Canal sailing in Autumn 2022 as the first preview itinerary from its forthcoming 2021/22 cruise programme, which is on sale now.

Jackie Martin, marketing and sales director at the cruise line, said: “In October, Braemar made history by becoming the largest ship ever to sail the Corinth Canal, which is just 24-metres wide at its narrowest point. The rock faces were so close that guests could – quite literally – almost touch them.

"Our World Record is something of which we, as a company, feel immensely proud and is a huge milestone in our history, generating media interest worldwide.

“We wanted as many of our guests as possible to enjoy this phenomenal experience, so we are thrilled to be doing it all again in 2022. Guests are advised to get booking soon to avoid disappointment, with this cruise proving exceptionally popular already!"

The ship will sail 26-night M22CC ‘Corinth Canal & Greek Islands Cruise’, departing from Southampton on September 23, 2022, and prices start from £4,199 per person.

Ports of call include: Southampton, UK – Malaga, Andalusia, Spain – Valletta, Malta – Agios Nikolaos, Crete, Greece – Rhodes, Greece – Ermoupoli, Syros, Greece – Cruising Corinth Canal – Patras, Greece (overnight stay) – Katakolon, Greece – Argostoli, Kefallonia, Greece – Cruising Strait of Messina – Cruising by Stromboli – Trapani, Sicily, Italy – Ibiza, Spain – Cartagena, Spain – Lisbon, Portugal – Southampton, UK

All prices are based on two adults sharing a twin-bedded ‘Interior Room’, and include accommodation, all meals and entertainment on board, plus port taxes.

There is some availability on Braemar's second sailing of the Corinth Canal in Spring 2021, on a 25-night  'Greek Islands & Corinth Canal' cruise from Southampton on April 16, 2021.
