Ethiopian Airlines launches new Manchester route

Ethiopian Airlines will commence flights from Manchester to Addis Ababa next week with four-times-a-week service. 

To celebrate the launch, the airline is offering some competitive fares across its 61 connecting African destinations.

Fares to look out for include Addis Ababa from £530, Kilimanjaro from £405, Uganda from £420, Seychelles from £458, Johannesburg from £435, Nairobi from £445 and Cape Town from £452. These fares are valid for bookings made before December 15 with travel dates between December 28 and up to June 30, 2019.

Ethiopian will operate Boeing 787 Dreamliner on the route to Addis with lie-flat business class and economy class. The first flight leaves Manchester Airport on December 11, initially transiting via Brussels. The service to Addis Ababa will operate on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. 

Michael Yohannes, UK country manager for the airline, said: “We are excited to commence our new service from Manchester on 11th December.  Along with the ten existing flights from Heathrow, the inauguration of a 4 weekly Manchester service makes Africa even more accessible along with some excellent connectivity from/to UK regional airports in conjunction with FlyBe, particularly Glasgow and Edinburgh. Passengers can look forward to convenient onward connections from Addis Ababa and unparalleled comfort on-board our Boeing 787 Dreamliner along of course with our traditional Ethiopian hospitality.”
