With 2,957 hours of sunshine a year, Malta’s capital of Valletta is meant to be one of the sunniest cities in Europe making it a good option for those seeking a European city break with guaranteed blue skies.

Recently The Malta Tourism Authority launched a new Diving Trail around the Maltese Archipelago.

The second in a series of themed ‘Trails’, visitors can use the map as an underwater hotspots guide during their time on the islands.

The Archipelago has long been a favourite scuba destination for travellers and the trail showcases locations that are suitable for both beginners and experienced divers. Repeatedly voted second best dive destination in the world, the waters around the Mediterranean Islands of Malta, Gozo and Comino offer clear blue sea and an abundance of reefs, caverns, caves and WWII shipwrecks.
