Coral Expeditions UK launch

Australian cruise line Coral Expeditions opens its UK office

Australian cruise line Coral Expeditions has opened its UK office at Aldwych House in London.

The function was joined by the company’s senior team members such as commercial director Jeff Gillies, senior master Gary Wilson, UK sales manager Amy Sharpe and international sales manager Elizabeth Webb.

The Australian company, now preparing for its milestone 35th anniversary year in 2020, is setting up a dedicated sales and customer support presence in the UK.

The UK office was launched at a gathering comprising past passengers and members of the company’s ‘Xplorer’s Club’ at Trinity House in London and was followed by a partnership launch event at Australia House in the presence of travel trade, media and destination partners.

Gillies said: “This week is a milestone in the growth story of Coral Expeditions.

“The UK is one of our leading international markets and it is a very proud moment for our entire team to be establishing a permanent presence after many decades of hosting UK guests on our voyages.

“Now heading into our 35th year of operations, we attribute our success to our singular focus on understanding and delivering on the promise of this style of travel with purpose-built expedition ships. Our mission is simple; we take like-minded explorers to the most remote parts of the world with expert guidance and warm Australian hospitality.”

Fleet master Gary Wilson presented information on recent Maiden Voyage series of the new vessel Coral Adventurer and shared new itineraries including a series of circumnavigation voyages of Australia, New Guinea, Sulawesi (Indonesia) and Tasmania.

Platinum Xplorer’s Club member Elizabeth Nairn, a veteran of many Coral Expeditions voyages, attended the event from Glasgow and was on hand to “ring the bell” of the historic vessel Britannia and signify the official welcome for the new office.

The cruise line has launched many new sailings.

Coral Expeditions will undertake a 60-night circumnavigation voyage of the entire Australian coastline in November and December 2020. The voyage onboard Coral Adventurer has been designed to feature 35 historic sites of maritime history that have shaped the nation.
