WHERE IS PHU QUOC?
Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam, located in the Gulf of Thailand, 45km West of Ha Tien and 15km South of the coast of Cambodia and is a part of Kien Giang Province as Phu Quoc District. Phu Quoc Island has a total area of 222 sq miles and a permanent population of approximately 85,000. Phu Quoc island is no lightweight: at 48km long and is about the same size as Singapore.
HOW TO TRAVEL TO PHU QUOC?
1. By ship Travelling by sea normally takes two and half hours by boat from Rach Gia as you can find more information by visit Super Dong ship service, the nearest inland town, and it takes seven hours to travel by car from Ho Chi Minh City to Rach Gia.
2. By airplane Flying to Phu Quoc is the most convenient way to get to the island, with at least 14 daily flights direct from Tan Son Nhat Airport – Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) and the capital city of Hanoi. Flight time is approximately 40 minutes and cost at time of writing is US$40 one-way. Indirect flights from Ho Chi Minh City via Rach Gia are also available on most days.
